Why obtain a CAM license?

A person is required to obtain a Community Association Managers's License if they are for remuneration:

• managing more than 10 units or
• managing an association with a budget or budgets having an annual budget in excess of $100,000;
• controlling or disbursing funds of a community association
• preparing budgets or other financial documents of a community association
• assisting in the noticing or conduct of community association meetings
• coordinating the maintenance for the residential development and other day to day services involved with the operation of a community association.

License Application Process and Requirements:

• AGE: You must be at least 18 years of age.
• PRE-LICENSURE EDUCATION: Submit a Prelicensure Education Certificate from an approved provider consisting of at least 18 hours of pre-licensure education.
• FINGERPRINTS: An applicant must have a background check as part of the licensing process. To learn more about fingerprinting, please visit our fingerprint FAQs.
• EXAMINATION: For information regarding the examination, please review the Candidate Information Booklet.
• FEE: Submit $228 with the application. (payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation)
